World Tiger Day

During the last Year of the Tiger (2010), Global Tiger Day was launched by leaders of the 13 tiger range countries and NGOs working to protect these beautiful animals from extinction.  Together, these advocates for wild tigers decided that by the next Year of the Tiger, the focus should be to double their global population, which at the time was estimated to be in the region of 3200. This is the time to celebrate the achievements so far.  

International Orangutan Day

International Vulture Awareness Day

The first Saturday in September each year is International Vulture Awareness Day. Vultures are an ecologically vital group of birds that face a range of threats in many areas that they occur. International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer

September 16th marks International Day for the Preservation of the Ozone Layer. Although there would be no life without sunlight, the energy emanating from the sun would be too much for life on Earth to thrive without the protection afforded by the ozone-layer. World Vegetarian Day was established as an annual celebration to promote the joy, compassion and life-enhancing possibilities of vegetarianism. MISSION OF WORLD ANIMAL DAY To raise the status of animals in order to improve welfare standards around the globe.
