World Cities Day
The United Nations General Assembly designated 31 October as World Cities Day. The Day is expected to greatly promote the international community’s interest in global urbanization, push forward cooperation among countries in meeting opportunities addressing challenges of urbanization and contributing to sustainable urban development around the world. https://www.un.org/en/observances/cities-day
Remembrance Day for Lost Species
Remembrance Day for Lost Species, November 30th, is a chance each year to explore the stories of extinct and critically endangered species, cultures, lifeways, and ecological communities. https://www.lostspeciesday.org/
World Soil Day
World Soil Day (WSD) is held annually on 5 December as a means to focus attention on the importance of healthy soil and to advocate for the sustainable management of soil resources. https://www.un.org/en/observances/world-soil-day
International Animal Rights Day
International Animal Rights Day helps bring awareness to showing respect to animals and fighting for ending acts of cruelty against them.
International Mountain Day
International Mountain Day is observed on December 11th. The increasing attention to the importance of mountains led the UN declare to 2002 the UN International Year of Mountains. The first international day was celebrated for the first time the following year, 2003. Mountains are home of the 15% of the world´s population and a quarter of the world’s land animals and plants. https://www.un.org/en/observances/mountain-day
