County Carlow Environmental Network

Our group that meets on the first Tuesday of every month at 7pm in An Gairdín Beo, Carlow town, began in 2018, established a committee in 2019 and has worked on several projects alongside Carlow County Council's Environment Department, raising environmental awareness in our community and beyond. During 2019 we primarily focussed on helping some of Carlow's festivals take on a greener focus, including the St Patrick's Day Festival where volunteers helped as litter angels. Transition Longford is a group of people in County Longford focusing on and working toward developing more sustainable, resilient, regenerative communities.. Summer Solstice Stories

We invited the people of Dublin to come and share their climate stories in our community garden.

To thelp share knowledge of climate issues in a fun and engaging way, and to foster a connection to our environment.

Secured venue in Community Garden, shared poster on eventbrite and social media, invited all to speak, recorded and edited audio, released as podcast
Our main challanges were:
Hosting the night was a first for the MC and recording and editing was a first for us too.
Our positive outcomes:
A great night, people met each other and learned from each other, a podcast as an outcome.
